The Union County Community Development Corporation (CDC) is incorporated in New Mexico as a non-profit corporation as well as a 501(c) 3 federally designated non-profit organization. The CDC originated during the planning process for developing Comprehensive Plans for Clayton and Union County. Contracts with Eastern Plains Council of Governments (EPCOG) for facilitating the comprehensive planning process highlighted the need to form an organization to carry out the plans being produced. The CDC is consciously made up of representatives from the organizations that constitute the heartbeat of Clayton and Union County. Representatives were selected by their respective organizations to come together to coordinate, plan for, and carry out the economic development of Union County. They include: The Clayton Chamber of Commerce, Clayton Public Schools, Union County General Hospital, the Town of Clayton, Union County, the Lodgers Tax Committee, the Golden Spread Rural/Frontier Coalition and concerned business owners. |
